Alan Peacock

Peacock joined Middlesbrough FC in the year 1954; however it took the player over four years to establish himself in the starting line up. He spent most of his time at Middlesbrough, playing up front with Brian Clough. He was outstanding for the club during the 1961-62 campaign, as he scored a prolific 24 goals in only 34 matches. His great play earned him a call up to play for England in the 1962 world cup finals. He moved on to play for Leeds United in 1964, signing for a staggering £55,000. He was impressive in front of goal at Elland Road, scoring 30 goals in 65 matches. He finished his playing career with Plymouth Argyle.

Willie Maddren

Maddren made his debut for the club during the 1968-69 season  and soon became a fans favourite. He is thought as one of Middlesbrough’s finest ever defenders playing in his central defence position. His finest campaign without doubt was the 1973-74 season as he helped Boro against promotion to the top flight, in a defence that consisted of Jim Platt, John Craggs and Frank Spraggon.
Maddren made many appearances for the England under 23 team and was called up to the Englands squad. He nearly helped Boro qualify for Europe by the end of the 1974-75 campaign as they finished it off in 7th place in the top flight.
