As a player, Robson was arguably England’s best player during the 1980’s. He was capped on over 90 occasions for the England national team and was captain for almost six years. He also was outstanding while playing for Manchester united over the years. In the summer of 1994, ‘Robbo’ was installed as the Middlesbrough ‘player- manager’ and did a reasonably good job at the club.
